Hungary is part of the Carpathian lowlands. Therefore it has a very agreable climate in summer.
hiking in Hongarije
Our accommodation in Szakácsi (Northeastern Hongary) is a perfect starting point for hiking. The region has a variety of landscapes: woods. agricualtural grounds, slooping hills, tiny sleepy villages, wide views.
Two long-distance trails are passing Szakácsi. One is the red Cserahát trail, the other one is the National Blue Trail Országos Kéktúra, which is part of the European E4 trail.
We used these trails to set out hiking routes for a (long) weekend or a week. Dayly distances can be adjusted according to your wishes.
